Enderby Wind Band

The Enderby Windband is the latest addition to the Enderby Band Organisation, having established in September 2005.

A traditional concert band format, we cater for all wind and brass instruments and our range of players currently includes Clarinets, Flutes and Piccolo, Saxophones, Oboe, Bassoon, Trumpets, Cornets, Horns, Euphonium, Trombones, Tuba and a Percussionist.

Our players range from beginners to experienced Grade 8 musicians, of all ages and we play a range of popular and classical band music. Maybe you used to play an instrument at school or university and haven't played for a while, or you're playing now and want to play in a group. We are a friendly bunch who enjoy playing music together and we do have the occasional social outing too! Our players pay a monthly subscription (£5 if you're in education, £10 if you're working) but we don't ask you to pay straight away - if you'd just like to come along for a couple of rehearsals and see if you like it you'd be more than welcome.

Each year the band performs at many venues and events accross the county. You can find the current list of concerts and events below. If you would like the band to play at an event for or near you, please let us know!

If you think wind and brass bands are full of boring people who play slow boring old music out the dark ages, think again! You should have been at our 70's and 80's themed concert. You can see from the photo to the right that we have lots of fun! We play a whole variety of music from old to new. Take a look at the list below which is a tiny sample of the hundreds of pieces we have to available to play. If you're interested in coming along to play in the band, why not come and join us in our Wednesday night rehearsal from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at the band room in Enderby. We are a nice friendly bunch who will help you fit in and get started.

We rehearse at the Enderby Village Institute, opposite the Methodist Church, just up from the Coop on Cross Street.

We have a policy in the band not to cap the number of members, we will always have space to fit new people in. We currently have most instruments covered, but would like more numbers in each department so we would be more than happy to hear from you if you do play a wind instrument.

We are a little thin on the ground in the follow areas:

Players of all levels and ages are welcome, the band ranges from around 12 to 70+ years old. We do ask that you can read music and have a basic understanding of the marks on the page as it will help you fit in. We all help each other so don't worry too much, you will find that your playing will rapidly improve when in the band.
